Would you like to freeze those stubborn fat pockets away for good?
That’s exactly what happens with CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting freezes fat cells with a technology called cryolipolysis. The cells are processed naturally through the lymphatic system and eliminated permanently through waste. Learn more about CoolSculpting and what it can do for you from La Ritz Spa & Salon in Conyers, Georgia.
Why You'll Love It
Even if you are dedicated to diet and exercise, many of us still have areas of fat deposits that just don't seem to budge.
“Love handles” are a good example. That’s where the literal fat freezing of CoolSculpting comes in. CoolSculpting targets the specific areas you can’t seem to lose on your own and gets rid of those fat cells permanently. You’ll love watching the "CoolSculpted" areas slim down in the days and weeks following your treatment.

What is CoolSculpting?
Technically known as cryolipolysis, this procedure can reduce the number of fat cells in the treated area between 20 and 25 percent. CoolSculpting’s unique technology uses controlled cooling to freeze and eliminate unwanted fat cells with minimal recovery time.
This procedure is FDA cleared and effective, with lasting and undeniable results. If your goal is to attack fat deposits, you may want to consider CoolSculpting as a solution. While CoolSculpting targets fat cells for elimination, it will not harm the surrounding tissues such as skin and muscle. CoolSculpting treats "subcutaneous" fat or fat directly under the skin. CoolSculpting does not address the deepest layer of fat, known as "viscereal" fat. Viscereal fat can only be minimized by diet and exercise. CoolSculpting is FDA cleared for reduction of fat in the following areas:
How do I know if CoolSculpting is right for me?
While CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure with little or no downtime, there are some people who are not candidates for the procedure.
Pregnant and nursing women should not undergo CoolSculpting, and it is contraindicated for anyone with a pacemaker or similar implanted device. Our certified CoolSculpting providers will review all the safety information with you at your consultation.
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment. You may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting if you are close to or at your ideal weight and have stubborn areas that you would like to address.
To begin the treatment, the skin is prepped with an alcohol wipe, then a gel pad is placed on the area to be treated. This gel pad is used to protect the skin. The cold is delivered through various CoolSculpting applicators, each designed for a specific body part.
The typical application time is 30 minutes, although a few are longer in duration. The CoolSculpting applicators utilize vacuum to assist in placement, so the patient will feel some pulling in the area, then the cold is delivered. Following the treatment, a two-minute massage is performed to the area treated. During the treatment, you can watch TV, read, even use your phone or computer. Our technicians will keep you very comfortable during the quick treatment, and you can return to normal activities immediately after your treatment.
There is no sedation involved with CoolSculpting. Patients may undergo annual CoolSculpting “touch-ups” or have the procedure repeated when needed. At La Ritz Spa in Conyers, CoolSculpting is one of our Treat to Complete procedures. We encourage our patients to get the most out of their investment by undergoing the full treatment plan that is recommended.
CoolSculpting is non-invasive, making it safer than other fat removal procedures such as liposuction. Patients do not have to recover from surgery. There is little recovery time involved with CoolSculpting. Patients can typically resume their normal activities immediately after their sessions. Any side effects are usually mild and may include:
These mild side effects typically resolve in a few days, but can last longer.
All common and rare side effects are thoroughly reviewed at your consultation.
It takes time to see results, but it is worth the wait. Most clients will begin to see results in about four weeks, with the most changes occurring between weeks four and nine. Your final result is considered to be at 12 weeks.
Most clients are very pleased with their results. We always recommend that diet and exercise be continued or even "stepped up" during the weeks and months that follow their CoolSculpting treatments. Many find that those stubborn areas are decreasing, so enter your journey with the mindset to "Treat to Complete.” As long as you do not gain weight after treatment, you should see yourself slim down as your clothes begin to fit better and those unsightly bulges are minimized!
At La Ritz Spa, we have found that our patients have a number of questions regarding CoolSculpting treatments. Any kind of life-changing treatment, such as CoolSculpting, should be carefully considered. Therefore, it is completely understandable that one would want to obtain as much information as possible before undergoing any procedure.
Below, we have provided you with a few frequently asked questions and their corresponding answers to help you feel more acquainted with the procedure, from the different areas we treat to whether or not you’d be a good candidate, to recovery time. Will it hurt?
Patients may experience some mild discomfort during the first few minutes of the CoolSculpting treatment, but the area being treated becomes numb in a few minutes, and you don't feel the cold following the numbness. You may expect to feel some soreness and tenderness following the treatment, and the numbness may persist for several weeks, then will go away. At your consultation, the Slim Studio staff will thoroughly review everything to expect during the treatment, and all safety information.
What are the risks?
The side effects of CoolSculpting are generally mild, but one of the rare side effects of CoolSculpting is Paradoxical Hyperplasia. This uncommon side effect causes the tissues in the treated area to become raised and firm, and liposuction is the corrective treatment to eliminate Hyperplasia.
What's the difference between CoolSculpting & liposuction?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that uses no anesthesia, needles, or knives. There is little to no downtime and minimal recovery with CoolSculpting. Liposuction is an invasive, surgical procedure that may require general anesthesia, there is recovery and downtime required with surgery.
Am I a good candidate?
Generally, a good candidate is someone who has noticeable bulges in certain areas. We suggest that you set up a consultation so that you can discuss exactly which areas you’re looking to address with CoolSculpting so that one of our practitioners can aptly determine what will best serve you.
How long is recovery?
There is little recovery period necessary with CoolSculpting. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
How much does it
CoolSculpting costs depend on the size of the treatment area and the number of sessions. At La Ritz Spa, we encourage our patients to Treat to Complete. That means following the treatment plan that our experts will create for you, they will guide you on how many treatments are needed to achieve the shape you desire. La Ritz Spa’s CoolSculpting pros are all certified by CoolSculpting as expert providers. If you want optimal results, choose the experts and you will find that Slim Studio is the place for you.
How long before I can return to my normal activities?
As CoolSculpting is a non-surgical treatment, you can feel free to return to your normal activities immediately following your procedure, if you wish.
Where does the fat go?
Once the fat cells have been frozen, they shall naturally die off, and the body will then dispose of them. The treated fat cells will be permanently removed from your body through natural physical processes.
Is CoolSculpting safe?
Over one million CoolSculpting procedures have been performed successfully and safely, worldwide. CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared.
When will I see results?
Some patients begin to see results as quickly as three weeks after their initial treatment. You will continue to see changes in your body for approximately six months, as your body will continue to flush out the crystallized fat cells.
Are there side effects?
Typical side effects include a feeling of temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and slight pain in the targeted areas. The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. We encourage you to set up a consultation with one of our practitioners, to discuss if the CoolSculpting treatment is right for you.
Do I need to follow any special workout regimen or diet?
No, it is not necessary to see results. However, many patients feel a renewed sense of motivation after their body contouring procedure and want to maintain their new figure by taking better care of themselves.
What if I gain weight later on?
Many patients wind up taking even better care of their bodies after enjoying the results from their CoolSculpting procedure. However, if you find that you do gain weight, you will likely put on weight evenly, not just in the treated areas.
Several factors are taken into consideration to determine if you are a good candidate for CoolSculpting. These include your weight and the type of fat deposit that you are concerned with. Also taken into consideration is your lifestyle; your diet and exercise do play a role in determining if the treatment is right for you. CoolSculpting is approved for specific parts of the body.
During your consultation and assessment at Slim Studio, you will learn if the areas you're concerned with fit the treatment profile of a good candidate for CoolSculpting.
If you are either at your ideal weight or close to your ideal weight, you could be a good candidate for CoolSculpting. "Close to your ideal weight" would generally mean that you are within 30 lbs. or 13.6 kg. of your ideal weight. This is not a "hard and fast rule" but more of a general guideline, as peoples' bodies come in all shapes and sizes and individuals can carry their weight very differently. Gender can also play a role in the decision about candidacy.
Your Fat Deposit(s)
CoolSculpting treats subcutaneous fat. Subcutaneous fat is soft, pinchable, pliable fat that lies directly under the skin. CoolSculpting does not treat Visceral fat. Visceral fat is "deep fat" that is stored further underneath the skin than subcutaneous fat. It's a form of gel-like fat that is actually wrapped around the major organs including the liver, pancreas and kidneys. During your CoolSculpting consultation and assessment at Slim Studio, we can determine if you have subcutaneous fat that is treatable with CoolSculpting.
Diet & Exercise(s)
Having a healthy diet can increase your likelihood of being a good candidate for CoolSculpting. In addition, regular exercise is definitely a plus when considering a treatment like CoolSculpting.
Areas of Treatment
CoolSculpting is FDA cleared to treat specific areas of the body. You could be a good candidate for CoolSculpting if your areas of concern are any of the approved areas for treatment. The abdomen is the most frequently CoolSculpted area of the body. The upper abdomen and lower abdomen are both FDA approved for treatment and can be treated separately or at the same time.
The flanks are the #2 area in demand for CoolSculpting treatment. Both men and women can have an excess fat deposit under their chin which can be minimized with a CoolSculpting procedure. Many women are concerned with excess fat in their inner thighs and stubborn bulges in their outer thighs. CoolSculpting can even reduce fat in the area surrounding the knee. Other areas that women may be concerned with that are treatable with CoolSculpting are arms, back, the area under the bra line, the area in front of the underarm and the area directly beneath the crease of the buttocks.
